We don't know it yet, but this is the start of an epic romance ;)

I loved this scene for various reasons. But I’ll concentrate on the girls here. As Emily is spot on as to where Morgan would’ve headed, JJ is eyeing her so keenly. She’s probably wondering “OMG! She actually knows her stuff, unlike…ahem, you-know-who.”

I want to hug Revelations. The most wonderful episode ever, not only because of the slash but because it had some of the most amazing team scenes and character insights. But getting on track again:

Emily: JJ, look at me. Look at me.

 
For all I know, JJ’s been looking at Emily ever since.

Emily is so perverted :P

Emily: Hey, hey, hey, JJ. It’s me. Are you alright?
JJ: I…yeah. I’m sorry you scared me.
Emily: I’m sorry. I’m talking tomorrow morning to some guy who knew Henkel from Narcotics Anonymous. Why don’t you come with me, get out of the house.
JJ: Yeah
Emily: Ok. Great!

In this way, Emily asks JJ on their first date, the FBI way.

JJ: Emily.
Emily: Yeah?
JJ: How come none of this gets to you.
Emily: What do you mean?
JJ: You came off a desk job. Now suddenly you’re in the fields surrounded by mutilated bodies and you don’t even flinch.
Hotch: She’s right, you’ve never blinked.
Emily: I guess maybe I compartmentalise better than most people.

I have never heard a bigger bunch of BS spoken this unconvincingly. Paget’s good with the eyebrow thing, lol and even she isn’t totally convinced by what she’s saying. Neither are JJ & Hotch. I think it has a lot to do with Emily’s childhood, growing up in the tormented Middle-Eastern countries. And her father. Almost everyone in the fandom ignores Emily’s father, maybe because she hasn’t mentioned him and we’ve met her mother and she’s spoken of her grandpa too. But if you look closely at her scenes with Morgan in Fear and Loathing and with Reid in Scared to Death, there is some sort of quiet tension there. And because she is not exactly fond of her mother, I doubt she’s anything like her and instead has gone more on her father. And maybe the cross has something to do with him. Okay, before I begin my novel on Prentiss, let me get back to the girls.

JJ, even in her shaky condition is curious about Emily. How cautious is my JJ, wanting to know more about Prentiss before going out with her. I didn't like they way they focussed only on Reid after his kidnapping because obviously JJ went through some trauma there. But I think this scene redeems the writers a bit. It's almost like JJ doesn't want to get affected and just wants to forget the whole ordeal. And for that, she's taking tips from Emily.

As much as I love the fact Emily sends JJ dirty text messages, I love the look on Morgan's face here. Never fails to crack me up. This guy so does not get women even though he's grown amidst them :P

Garcia: Ola, cowgirls and boys!

Now they just want a reason to look at each other and smile. I love it still :D At least Emily’s smiling after Reid was giving her a hard time all day. And since I have brought this up, I have to add how much I love Emily for telling Reid to read Gideon’s letter in Scared to Death. She doesn’t hold grudges and she ships Gideon/Reid *hugs Emily*

I wasn’t a big fan of Jones at first. The random guy with a hot southern accent hitting on JJ was annoying me. And even Prentiss avoids looking at JJ in this scene and we know Prentiss looks at least once at JJ while providing her inputs. She’s obviously thoroughly pissed at JJ for letting him go on, hehe. And this isn't the first time we see a glimpse of jealous Emily:

Can you believe it? After all this time, Prentiss still has trust issues. Growing up as a rebel with a mother like that and she probably had peers she wanted to impress more than actually be herself around them (what she says to JJ in Doubt). More back story please so I can have something concrete here *flowers*

But hey! Emily is so totally the jealous type and even though I don’t like relationships where one person is insecure and the other keeps reassuring them all the time, I’m willing to make an exception here because I can, meh. Besides, JJ has a very independent personality and with a girl like that, who wouldn’t be insecure. Add to the fact the age difference between the two and Emily wondering if JJ would someday dump her for someone younger. Yep, it all makes sense. I wish I could tell Emily there’s no need to worry. JJ is head over heels in love with her and it doesn’t take a genius to see it. All I wonder about is the amount of make-up sex they have *dreams*

Speaking of Limelight, erm…I mentioned long ago that Emily said JJ was saying the FBI biatch was mythologising the unsub. Turns out it was Morgan *is completely embarrassed* I should stop with my obsession if I want to concentrate on the rest of the show *shakes head at self*

Emily: *blah, blah* Grandfather *blah, blah*
JJ: You spent a lot of time up there?
Emily: Yeah, whenever we were in France, which was a lot.

I'll come back to this scene later and can I just say how much I adore the close up shots of AJ *sigh* God those blue eyes *thud* She’s so excited to know more things about Emily, while no one else is concerned Emily just gave a speech about the time she grew up. Paget delivers those lines beautifully, with a tinge of nostalgia and melancholy. She looks at JJ for a beat and withdraws back to herself, as if she's living a distant memory. Just makes me ache for more Emily back story.

JJ: Everyone is so much younger than I remember being.
Emily: It’s a weird age. You want to be treated like an adult but you’re still used to someone else solving your problems for you.
JJ: All I remember is trying to figure out who I was.
Emily: I move around and never get used to being whoever people want you to be.

Ahem *points to bolded line* ‘Nuff said *g*

Emily's eyes are fixed on JJ as she enters the room and takes her seat.

Get a room. Seriously, could JJ look more smitten?

JJ: Are you ok?
Emily: I’ll be fine.
JJ: I’ll call an ambulance.

Slays me every time. JJ’s concern makes me so giddy. Probably because she’s the only one concerned about Prentiss.

Emily: She’ll be ok.
JJ: She’s a kid. What is she trying to prove here.
Emily: That she can be a good daughter.

I’ll touch the points here with the help of the last scene. BTW, I was on JJ's side.

JJ: You ok.
Emily: Yeah.
JJ: They’re good people, Carrie’s family.
Emily: Good, I’m glad.
JJ: I think it’s a good idea though.
Emily: What’s that?
JJ: You…*me*…kids… I can see it.
Emily: Yeah?
JJ: *nods*

This scene is so beautiful. Even if you remove your femslash goggles(which I know you refuse to *giggles*) you can see the stage these two have reached. We don’t see Emily mentioning adoption to JJ on screen so my best guess is that Hotch would’ve told her. It’s always a pleasure to analyse the Hotch/JJ dynamic as a shipper or not. Hotch is such an Emily/JJ shipper though if you look at it that way. Scroll up to see the screencap where I made a comment on JJ’s blue eyes and you’ll see Hotch in the background. Seems like he’s always around, doesn’t it? Lessons Learned, Revelations, Birthright... Coming back to this scene, JJ knows what Emily’s thinking and wastes no time coming to the point which is exactly why I love JJ. When she looks at Emily when Carrie hugs her, the talk before the interrogation scene, JJ understands that a bond has been developed between Emily and the girl especially considering they both haven’t exactly been ideal daughters. The way she takes a seat next to Emily and tells her Carrie will be well taken care of is perfect. And it’s why I always come back to my JEm as much as I have other shallow pairings for JJ. I don't bite my lips or fingers while talking to anyone, be it girls or boys. I think it sends a very wrong signal, teehee :P They are so into each other, it's not even funny anymore!

I think that JJ has what it takes to be a good profiler; power of observation, persuasion skills and she’s an extremely fast learner. I hope someday she changes her mind and takes whatever exam needed for becoming a profiler and we get an episode like “Who Shot Sherlock?” where Greg’s promoted (I only hope it’s Emily who gives her a hug. Heck, anyone as long as it is not Reid). And now, I’m just waiting to be killed for comparing Criminal Minds to CSI *hides* Honestly, think about it. JJ as a profiler sharing more space with Emily. And they can so continue their eye-sex fest, woot!

As Emily approaches the two, her gaze is fixed on JJ and she even touches her back while leaving. They're so touchy-feely, teehee :P

And here's where I can wave my shipper flag proudly. All of them know Garcia means more to Morgan than anyone else. Emily’s the one to ask the question and JJ’s the one to answer. Like I've said before, they are so there even when they aren't there. Even when they're surrounded by other team members, they still manage to stand apart. Open Season, in Doubt, when Reid is walking along with them and yet it's them having a conversation and the poor boy lost in his own world, feeling all neglected. How there is no distance between them when they walk together. It all makes it so...subtle. The writers obviously ship Emily/JJ :D

I don’t think I even need words to describe how much this hand-holding means to us. Forget gold this was diamond. Scratch that, platinum, this scene was platinum in it’s purest form!!! And I think it’s in a way a continuation to the plane-flirtation scene. We don’t see much of the team members as ordinary people which leaves most of the things to our imagination. But I’m sure these two share a very special bond as you just don’t go holding hands of someone unless you know them really well to know they would appreciate that little gesture of comfort. JJ was there for Emily and now Emily’s there for JJ. What more could a shipper possibly want? *sighness*

Ecklie and Xander in one scene. Fandom collisions can cause an earthquake inside my head. Back to Emily/JJ, I love the way they keep looking at each other during the entire scene. Both are defending Garcia, and it seems as if they're looking for assurance that what they're saying is correct. Emily, because she hasn't know Garcia for very long and JJ because, well...JJ always looks at Emily.

Both these girls are so spot on with their facial expressions when Ecklie asks them what they know of Garcia being recruited. I have nothing to emphasise on here, but just making you look at their pretty faces again *g*

Morgan: Who’s up for a drink?
Emily: Ooo, who’s up for five.

The shoulder rub was so Paget/AJ but the more that I see it, the more I’m inclined to sway the other way. They’ve been holding hands for goodness sake, why would a little more touching be against their character especially since the whole “Who’s up for five” was meant for JJ to smile. Emily looks at her when she says it, mind you. And because I haven’t said anything very pervy and can resist no long, I’ll just mention how much I want to see Emily give JJ a massage. There, I said it and now I’m proud of myself.

JJ is stressed out during Birthright and again we don’t see her directly approaching Emily about it. Rather, we get some amazing Hotch/JJ scenes. It’s like Hotch is sort of a mediator between the two. And if you don’t like this idea, then let’s just say Emily and JJ have been dating for a long while now and Emily would obviously know if her lover was going through a tough time. I still like to keep Hotch in between though. It would be really humbling to know that other team members know and approve of their relationship.

Sadly, this is where the picspam comes to an end. I could go on about them, but let’s save it for your next birthday *g* I’ll leave you with this one last observation. I think we’ve begun to see a profound effect these two may have had on each other. While shooting the [Censored] who shot Garcia, JJ says “I never blinked.” And she had asked Emily the same thing in Revelations, how come it never gets to her. Well it does get to her. In Open Season as well as True Knight, we get to see Emily sharing her concerns about the after effects of their job with Morgan and Rossi respectively. Also, before the conversation between Emily and Morgan on the plane about Vonnegut, we see JJ reading a book. Please tell me she has never been spotted reading a book before and I can do a victory dance. I'm not saying JJ is not bookish. But some people are more bookish than others and Emily has my full permission to pass on her nerdiness to JJ. That would be so adorable <3

They have a lot to learn from each other and I only hope in the episodes to follow, the writers continue to write them the way they have been doing so far. After what they did to my Gideon/Reid, it’s the only way to make up for it *pets my poor, sunken ship*

Randomness:

I’ve read a million times about the wardrobe swapping and have always mentioned them wearing similar colours (White, Green, Blue, Purple, Red) but haven’t mentioned it here as you may have noticed. The colouring wouldn't work that way.

I did not see all the episodes entirely which always makes the analysis better so if there are any points you don’t agree with or think are horrendously ridiculous(not the best way to phrase it, I know) please feel free to point them out.
